  • Ultrasound is the use of sound waves to create an image used in both diagnostic & elective procedures.

  • 2D imaging is the standard black & white sonogram image. 3D imaging shows the 3 dimensional views of your baby. 4D imaging allows you to see your baby moving in 3D.

  • 3D & elective ultrasounds are safe when performed by a registered diagnostic sonographer. That is why we pride ourselves being owned & operated by a registered sonographer. You and your baby deserve the best care and the safest practices. With First Peek 3D Ultrasounds, you both are in safe hands.

  • While the heart beat is detectable at 5/6 weeks of pregnancy, we do not listen to the heart beat until 14 weeks of pregnancy. The reason for this is because it requires more energy to hear the heartbeat, and it is recommended to use the lowest possible energy settings during pregnancy. We pride ourselves on practicing all safety standards. For our early pregnancy packages, we will view the heartbeat and measure it, but we won’t listen.

  • The ideal window for an optimal 3D scan is 26-32 weeks.

  • Gender can be seen as early as 15 weeks. However, it’s best seen at 18 weeks and up.

  • Our 3D packages do not offer any medical information. However, we do offer full diagnostic ultrasounds that can easily be ordered by your physician or midwife.

  • Yes, we ask that you either have a signed copy of our physician release form at your appointment or proof of your diagnostic anatomy sonogram, ultrasound photos are accepted.

  • While we do service Houston and all surrounding areas, patients located outside of a 20 mile radius from Pecan Grove (77406) will incur a $50 travel fee.

  • Any changes to appointments, rescheduling or cancelling need to made 1 day prior to the appointment. Failure to do so will result in a $75 cancellation fee.

  • Yes, friends & family are welcome to attend. We do ask that children have an adult (other than the patient) present to ensure safety around the equipment.

  • We cannot guarantee that you will see the perfect picture of baby. Many things contribute to capturing beautiful photos including, fluid clarity & levels, baby’s position, placenta position, and mother’s body type. We try our best to overcome these factors, but sometimes it may not work in our favor. If we are unable to achieve satisfactory images, we do offer a free rescan.

  • To help us try to get the best possible photos of your baby, we recommend that you drink plenty of water the week prior to your appointment. A light snack 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment may help to get baby moving as well.

  • Rescans will be scheduled one week after your initial appointment, and are only 15 minute sessions. Rescan appointments will not include extra collages or an additional USB. Due to late gestational age, no rescans will be offered on pregnancies 34 weeks and up.

  • We provide one USB/ USBC flash drive that will have the entire exam loaded. And of course, we print out as many photos as we can at each exam!

  • We accept cash, debit cards, all major credit cards, FSA & HSA cards. We do not accept personal checks.
